A special conference at the Knesset entitled “Wake Up Call to Women Ahead of the 2023 Municipal Elections” took place on February 14, 2023. One of the speakers was Efrat Gehasi from Nivcharot.
She told the committee that there is zero representation of Haredi women in the municipal councils.
She explained that that women are totally barred from these councils, as they are from ultra-Orthodox parties, and this ‘’iron door’’ makes women think that there is no place for them.
