Influencing Public Discourse Through the Media

Haya Gilboa, journalist and social activist, interviews Esti Shushan, Nivcharot Director and Founder for Channel 11’s series Kol Hator, based on themes from weekly Torah portions. The relevant Torah portion was Parashat Pinchas and the duaghters of Zelophechad, who fought for their right to inherit their father's land. In the same way, the activists of Nivcharot are also fighting for their right for a voice within a male-dominated society. In the interview, Shushan talks about her childhood, the discrimination she encountered, the compromises she was forced to make as journalist, and her journey as a social activist and the founder of Nivcharot.
